Oleh Progressive Minds Association (OPMA) commends Sen. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, hails FMC Bill as healthcare Game-Changer for Isoko

"..... encourages collaboration for timely assent and implementation

The Oleh Progressive Minds Association has commended Dist. Sen Joel-Onowakpo, the senator representing Delta South Senatorial district for initiating, debating and advancing to third reading, the bill establishing Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Oleh Community

In a statement issued through OPMA director of media and communications, the Association's Chairman, Engr. Paul Ogba praised  Sen. Joel Onowakpo for his unwavering commitment through out every stage of the legislative process, describing the bill as a landmark initiative with the potential to significantly reshape healthcare delivery across Isoko land.

He further called on all stakeholders to work collaboratively to facilitate the timely assent of the bill by the President.

"As a people, regardless of our social and political leanings, we must work hand in hand to provide this bill and its initiator the support and encouragement that they deserve. With unity and sincerity of purpose, so much can be achieved" he stated.

Accordingly, in his appeal to the  President, Engr. Paul Ogba outlined three compelling reasons for seeking a timeous assent and implementation of the bill. They include:

1. Avoidable loss of lives: Too often, due to the inadequacy of local healthcare facilities, patients are forced to undertake dangerous journeys to Warri or Asaba for basic medical with some tragically losing their lives enroute

2. Economic empowerment: The FMC when fully operational can create over 500 direct jobs and further stimulate ancillary businesses within the local economy

3. Establishment of trust: Timely delivery will help foster trust by demonstrating that government commitments to the Niger Delta region are not only sincere but also achievable, reinforcing confidence in public institutions

Finally, as a social impact organization deeply committed to the growth of Isoko Nation, the chairman, like many others proudly aligns with Senator Joel-Onowakpo’s developmental vision. While hopeful that the Dist. Senator will continue to attract more federal presence and development to Isoko land through his office, he seizes this moment to appeal to all Isoko leaders both political and community to rally together under one umbrella of love and unity with a shared commitment of elevating Isoko Nation to an enviable height.
