Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Marks 2nd Anniversary with 42 Projects, Receives Assembly’s Confidence Vote



Asaba, Delta State – Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced the inauguration of 42 road projects to commemorate his administration’s second anniversary. The governor made the revelation during his historic State of the State Address at the Delta State House of Assembly on Wednesday, showcasing his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development under the MORE Agenda.

Key Projects for Inauguration

Governor Oborevwori listed critical projects set for commissioning, including:

46km Ughelli–Asaba Road dualisation (Sectors C1 & C2)
Isheagu/Ewulu Road & Phase I Bridge
Kwale–Beneku Bridge & Approach Roads
Reconstruction of Orhorhor, Chechester, and Benjamin Oseregbaje Roads in Sapele
Warri/Effurun Flyovers & Slipways (Completion by Q1 2026)
Rehabilitation of Central Hospital Road & Warri-Sapele Road links
Internal roads in Kokori, Abraka, Oghara, and other communities

The governor also highlighted ongoing interventions inOgbinbiri, Ogbudugbudu, and Kurutie communities, emphasizing rural connectivity and economic growth.




Assembly’s Vote of Confidence

Following the address, the Delta State House of Assemblypassed a vote of confidence in Governor Oborevwori, commending his prudent financial management andtransformational leadership. The motion, moved by Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo and seconded by Hon. Edafe Emakpor (Uvwie Constituency), was unanimously adopted.

House Leader Hon. Emeka Nwaobi praised the governor’s strides in education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, while Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor lauded hisstrategic governance and accountability.

Governor Oborevwori reiterated that his administration’sMORE Agenda—anchored on transparency, innovation, and service delivery—has driven Delta’s progress. He assured residents of sustained development in the remaining two years of his tenure.

"Our mid-term report reflects our commitment to uplifting every community in Delta State," he declared.
