Delta Govt recognizes Emiko Etuwewe-Odin and 49 others at Africa Youth Day Celebration 2023

 




In honor of their exceptional contributions and unwavering determination in various fields, the Delta State Government, in collaboration with the Delta State Ministry of Youth Development, celebrated the achievements of 50 remarkable young entrepreneurs, including Emiko Etuwewe-Odin, during the Africa Youth Day Celebration 2023. This event took place at the Chadef Hotel in Asaba, Delta State, and served as a platform to highlight the voice and role of young people in the development of the African continent. The focus of this year's celebration was to acknowledge and reward youth entrepreneurs who have made significant strides in areas such as politics, education, agriculture, entertainment, ICT & media, commerce, and NGOs.

African Youth Day, observed annually on November 1st, aims to raise awareness, commitment, and investment in the youth, fostering increased participation, partnerships, and intercultural exchanges among them. The goal is to harness the demographic dividends and stimulate innovative ideas for development across the continent.


During the event, Comrade Ambassador Uyero Erarawhewho Jnr, the Governor's Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization, expressed pride in celebrating the achievements of the 50 outstanding youth, despite the prevailing economic challenges. He reiterated the office's commitment to mobilizing grassroots youth for increased political participation and governance processes.

Comrade Agbateyiniro Isaac Weyinmi, the Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, congratulated the honored youth entrepreneurs and assured them of the state government's willingness to partner with and support their ventures. He emphasized the government's dedication to encouraging youth with creative ideas that contribute to the economic growth of Delta State and Nigeria.


The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Engr Yobo Ideh, Vice Chairman of the Delta North Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and First Member of the Delta Development & Property Authority (DDPA). He expressed gratitude to the organizers and wished the honored youth continued success in their endeavors.

The Africa Youth Day Celebration 2023 served as a testament to the government's commitment to nurturing and empowering the youth, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Delta State
