The senior pastor of Gihon City Bible Church, Rev. Lawrence O. Agbirekomi, officiated the Resurrection Bliss service on Easter Sunday, the 5th of April 2026, with a brief sermon titled: "The Power Of Resurrection," citing Philippians 3:10-14 and stressing that Jesus Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection form the bedrock of Christian faith.
The man of God, alluding to Romans 8:11, articulated that the Spirit of God that raised Jesus is the power of resurrection. He subsequently pronounced that all the good things that the devil has sought to destroy in the lives of believers shall be restored in tandem with Jesus' resurrection.
He emphasized that the resurrection signifies Jesus' dominion over believers' lives, with Jesus commanding their destinies and the devil having no power. Therefore, they should not be afraid or troubled, knowing Jesus is in complete control. Because He lives, they have the assurance of facing tomorrow securely, protected from the powers of hell and human schemes by Jesus' unyielding grasp.
Furthermore, he stressed that the resurrection service should denote a fresh start for individuals, since all their sins have been purged, and thus, it is imperative for them to connect with divine grace and be fully committed to the Kingdom of God, not lapsing into their former ways.
