Now, let us look at some benefits of thanksgiving.
1. Thanksgiving is a Kingdom principle that provokes multiplication, and also brings enlargement (Jeremiah 30:19). Thanksgiving is a multiplier. When you give thanks for the little, God will make it to be big. Learn to be appreciative; learn to thank God for everything.
2. Thanksgiving brings us into God’s presence (Psalm 100:4). When we thank God, we appear before His presence. You want to always feel God’s presence around you, then live a life of thanksgiving. Always be thankful, because thanksgiving opens the door to a deeper fellowship with God. It also invites God’s power; because anywhere the presence of God is, there is power (Psalm 22:3).
3. Thanksgiving attracts God’s blessing. Luke 17:11-19 shows us how God’s blessing can be released when we thank Him. When we thank God, we are asking for more. Every time we thank God, unknowingly we are positioning ourselves for more. If thanksgiving was not important, would Jesus ask about the other nine lepers that received healing? When we thank God for what He has done, we position ourselves to receive more from Him.
4. Thanksgiving removes anxiety, and brings peace of mind to us (Philippians 4:6-7).
5. Thanksgiving strengthens our faith. As you say, “Lord, I thank You for it,” He will do it. There are a lot of things I believe God for. As I thank Him, my faith is strengthened. It is faith that makes prayer to be answered. It is not prayer that makes faith work; it is faith that makes prayer work.
6. Thanksgiving reminds us of God’s great faithfulness, and gives us the confidence of the future. Because God did it before, He will do it again.
7. Thanksgiving releases joy and gladness (Psalm 92:1-4). A thankful heart is a joyful heart. Thanksgiving makes our hearts to be joyful, and brings gladness to us.
8. Thanksgiving brings deliverance and victory to God’s people (2 Chronicles 20:21-22). We will have victory on every front in Jesus’ name.
9. Thanksgiving destroys murmuring and complaining, because it shifts our focus from our challenges to God’s goodness (Psalm 121:1-2).
10. Thanksgiving glorifies God. When we thank Him, we acknowledge Him that He is the source of every blessing.
