Rev. Dr. Lawrence O. Agbirekomi, on Tuesday morning of 28th April 2026, delivered a powerful sermon titled: “You Are Free Indeed,” expounding on John 8:30-36 and highlighting the freedom from sin attainable only through Jesus Christ.
The senior pastor of Gihon City Bible Church commenced by stating that knowing the truth is the key to true freedom, noting that many individuals are still entrapped in bondage because they are unaware that Jesus Christ has freed them, and that He is God’s instrument for delivering humanity from sin and the devil’s grasp.
He emphasized that many individuals focus on results, forgetting that time is an essential component of every manifestation, each believer being a project in the hands of God that needs to be finished, and this completion comes from truly knowing Jesus Christ, the personification of truth.
The cleric observed that various influences are seeking to sway believers from the truth and manipulate them for ulterior motives.
He also observed that there is an intention to cast aspersions on them, but God has given them a spirit of boldness instead of fear.
He acknowledged that even though dark forces are actively waging war against believers, they have no reason to fear because the Greater One abides in them.
He finally urged believers to develop their ability to listen to the Spirit, encouraging them to strive for spiritual maturity that allows them to hear God’s voice clearly.
