The Power Of Human Connections Established Through Recommendations, By Rev. Dr. Lawrence Agbirekomi

Firstly, I would like to extend gratitude to God for granting us the opportunity to enter this new month. As the acronym MAY denotes, Miracles Await You, we anticipate extraordinary manifestations of God’s grace in the coming days. Being the fifth month of the year, we foresee an exceptional period where amazing grace will work tirelessly for each of us in Gihon City Bible Church. Unprecedented miracle, favor, increase, and turnaround shall be our collective experience in Jesus’ name.

Secondly, I would like to highlight that there are three primary factors that can empower us to positively shape our world for God: wealth, power, and influence. Through Jesus Christ, we can attain dominion that grants us these very elements. A Kingdom-oriented individual is characterized by their effective use of God-given wealth, power, and influence for the betterment of humanity. As divine blessings of wealth, power, and influence are bestowed upon you, it is vital to remain connected to God and keep Him in perspective.

Thirdly, I would also like to highlight that our ability to achieve success in life is inextricably linked with the connections we make with others. In other words, our opportunities, advancements, and triumphs are tangible outcomes that arise from the connections and relationships we foster with others.

This explains why belittling or looking down on others is counterproductive, given the unpredictability of who might recommend one to those in positions of support. Never underestimate the power of human connections established through recommendations. An encounter with the right person, made possible by a recommendation, can unlock years of supplication. When divine providence connects one with key figures through quality referrals, life’s narrative undergoes a transformative shift for the better.

Let us consider the life of Joseph in Egypt. After just one personal encounter with Pharaoh, Joseph became the second in command of the entire region. This elevation, however, was made possible by the chief butler’s recommendation, even though the butler had initially abandoned Joseph to spend two years in prison.

It is evident that while some individuals are divinely positioned to catalyze advancement, others are used by dark forces to delay progress. Therefore, fervent prayer is crucial, given the indifference of some individuals who, like the chief butler, might deliberately overlook you and fail to recommend you to those who could provide assistance.

When an evil spirit tormented King Saul, one of his servants recommended David, highlighting his remarkable attributes as noted in 1 Samuel 16:18, “Then one of the servants answered and said, ‘Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.'”

Despite being a lowly servant, David’s recommender played a pivotal role in his entry into the palace, demonstrating that even the humblest of individuals can wield significant influence through their words. May we be blessed with recommenders who speak kindly of us in Jesus’ name.
