Rev. Dr. Lawrence O. Agbirekomi, on Sunday morning of 19th April 2026, delivered a powerful sermon titled: “The Siege Is Over By The Power Of Resurrection,” taken from Philippians 3:10.
According to the man of God, the term ‘siege’ refers to a military strategy in which an army encircles or surrounds a targeted zone, fortress or stronghold, with the objective of disrupting or cutting off the flow of essential supplies, thereby compelling the inhabitants to surrender, a situation that can endure for a considerable length of time.
He provided additional clarification, stating that a siege involves confining individuals to a single location and severing their access to vital resources until they succumb, emphasizing that being trapped in one place prevents progress and leads to stagnation.
He highlighted numerous areas where individuals experience siege-like conditions, encompassing business, finance, education, career, marriage, ministry, and health. He emphasized that sieges inherently breed discouragement, aiming to force individuals to relinquish their faith in God. Nonetheless, he encouraged believers to transcend their challenges and shift their attention toward God, who is able to accomplish all things, rather than becoming entrapped by their challenges.
Based on biblical teachings from Matthew 23:23, he noted that neglecting tithing can result in financial siege or lead to financial instability, which is why the devil targets believers’ ability to pay their tithes faithfully.
He finally noted that many individuals are trapped due to the influence of their faulty family foundations, which imposes limitations on them, yet with divine intervention, all obstacles are overcome and such sieges are over through the divine force of resurrection.
