Rev. Lawrence O. Agbirekomi, on Tuesday morning of 31st March 2026, delivered a profound message titled: "The Triumphal Entry Of Jesus Into Jerusalem." Based on Matthew 21:1-9, the senior pastor of Gihon City Bible Church highlighted Jesus' first instruction to two disciples, which was to enter the village opposite them. He emphasized that there often exists a village opposed to one's success, necessitating spiritual perseverance.
According to him, the term 'village' denotes the foundational family forces that inhibit individual growth, decelerate progress, and impede success, effectively hindering the fulfillment of family members' destinies.
The cleric highlighted that within such a setting, a crucial element that facilitates destiny fulfillment and divine glory manifestation is often bound, and stressed that it is imperative for one to release it through fervent prayer to experience its manifestation.
He also noted that there will be times in one's life when one encounters interrogation from people who are resistant to one's success. When they interrogate you about your success, inform them that it is a direct result of the Lord's favor, granting you success and wellness as your soul flourishes. Reiterate that you have been called to realize your destiny and demonstrate divine splendor, and that the Lord's intention for your rise and shine ensures that darkness will not impede your journey.
Rev. Lawrence Agbirekomi also inferred that the tied donkey represented restriction and dormancy, while other animals were utilized for transportation. No one likely foresaw the unused donkey being utilized by Jesus, God's only Son. However, when the designated time arrived, Jesus recalled the donkey predestined for Him, and it was subsequently untied, brought to Him, and He triumphantly rode on it into Jerusalem as the Prince of Peace.
Jesus' choice to ride a humble donkey, as opposed to a majestic warhorse, underscored His mission as the Prince of Peace, not a military commander. This singular donkey was granted a rare honor that day, distinguishing it from all other animals. The donkey's association with Jesus resulted in its own beautification, mirroring the glorification of Jesus. This truth was eloquently expressed by the man of God who finally declared that, "Your life will be beautified because you carry Jesus."
