"O Lord, Destroy The Evil Handwritings" - Brother Franklin Alabrah at Gihon City Bible Church Palm Sunday Service

—By Isaiah Ogedegbe

Pastor Mrs. Evelyn Agbirekomi, wife of the senior pastor of Gihon City Bible Church, adeptly taught on a message titled: "The Power Of The Spoken Word," during the school of the Spirit on Palm Sunday, the 29th of March 2026. Utilizing Genesis 1:20-28 and Psalm 8:1-6, she highlighted that dominion involves being in charge through spiritual authority in Christ.

The woman of God stated that following God's creation of the universe, He sought a being in His image and likeness to be in charge of His creation. Consequently, God created Adam and entrusted him with dominion over all earthly things. Additionally, God gave Adam the power of nomenclature, granting him the authority to name all the animals, and the names he chose remain their names till today.

She underscored that God's spoken Word brought forth the entirety of creation, with the exception of mankind, into being, and emphasized that we have been imbued with the creative power or entrusted with the divine prerogative to utilize our words to create and transform our world. According to her, our verbal expressions represent more than just sounds; they constitute a dynamic agent of constructive transformation and divine evolution.

She disclosed that many adverse circumstances individuals face today are inherited from previous generations. Nonetheless, as followers of Christ, we are called to reject such afflictions entirely, recognizing they contradict God's intention and design for our existence.

Continuing, Brother Franklin Alabrah spoke on a similar message titled: "O Lord, Destroy The Evil Handwritings." Drawing from John 8:1-11 and Colossians 2:14-15, he noted the possibility of evil handwritings in family foundations due to principalities and powers. Nonetheless, Jesus' mission was to introduce a new handwriting, superseding the devil's script. With the One greater than Moses present, His opinion holds final authority, rendering the old obsolete. As Scripture states, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed" (John 8:36).

Referencing the stories of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3 and Daniel's experience in Daniel 6, the speaker exhorted believers to prioritize serving God and maintain a vibrant prayer life. He noted that life's journey often presents subtle tests to one's faith, demanding compromise and conformity to the pressures of negative circumstances. Yet, as believers, we are expected to remain resolute in our faith, anchored in God's Word, and display unshakeable faith in the omnipotent God.
