Pastor Mrs. Evelyn Agbirekomi, wife of the senior pastor of Gihon City Bible Church, delivered a powerful sermon titled: "Woman of Dominion" on Mother's Day, the 15th of March 2026. Based on Genesis 1:26-28, she emphasized that every God-fearing mother who exercises spiritual authority embodies the characteristics of a woman of dominion, yet this spiritual role does not exempt her from submitting to her husband's authority, as it is a divine command. Regardless of educational or financial disparities, a woman of dominion is expected to exhibit submission while dominating spiritually.
The woman of God highlighted the importance of mothers emulating the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31:10-31, noting their pivotal role in shaping their family's trajectory through their God-given dominion. She encouraged mothers to cultivate peace, respect, and productivity, utilizing their abilities to build and prosper their homes.
A woman of dominion, she advised, uses her strengths to support her family and encourage her husband, rather than creating tension. By being proactive and positive, mothers can bring fruitfulness to their homes, not just through child-rearing but through their overall influence.
