"Change Your Mindset And Get Your Portion" - Bishop Otutu Flo at Gihon City Bible Church First Anniversary Celebration

 By Isaiah Ogedegbe

It was indeed a service of great spiritual enlightenment, on Tuesday morning of 17th February 2026, as Gihon City Bible Church, founded and led by Rev. Lawrence O. Agbirekomi, held its first Anniversary Celebration with the theme: “Rehoboth.” During the service, Bishop Otutu Flo delivered an eye-opening message titled: “Change Your Mindset And Get Your Portion,” which centered on the transformative power of the believer’s mind, and the importance of embracing positive changes in the believer’s life. Reading from Num. 27:1-11, the Bishop highlighted that:

1. It is only divinity (God) that does not change (Mal. 3:6). For humanity, change is a constant, fundamental, inevitable, and necessary process for personal growth and development. Therefore, embracing every positive change breaks stagnation, and opens new opportunities to the believer, as it did to the daughters of Zelophehad; while resisting it often leads to retrogression, and irrelevance. Also, according to him, stepping out of the believer’s comfort zone like the daughters of Zelophehad is crucial for remaining relevant in an evolving world that changes constantly.

2. “It is by force,” Bishop Otutu Flo declared, “not by joke.” He revealed that on the earth everyone has a God-given portion, but many people have lost theirs either through their leniency or complacency (Matt. 11:12). The daughters of Zelophehad were not too lenient with Moses, but took a dangerous action that could have cost them their lives, and in the end they abrogated a law which had existed for many years. Before the time of the daughters of Zelophehad, many daughters of other people had also lost their inheritances. This clearly shows that sometimes, when God is not talking about your case, it is because that right, seemingly risky action has not yet been taken by you. He also insisted that, “The way this world is built, you cannot get it because you want it; you get it because you place a demand on it.”

3. Bishop Otutu Flo further revealed that, “Whether you like it or not, everything happening in your family is tied to some evil foundations.”

4. Bishop Otutu Flo urged believers to change their spiritual position by taking God seriously and allowing Christ to rule them in everything they do. Also, according to him, they should come to the realization that what is happening to them in their families is not normal. What they do not know might kill them faster, but what they know they can easily fight, subdue, and overcome. The Bishop maintained that greatness is not for normal people, because normal, or lenient, or complacent people cannot go very far in life.

5. Bishop Otutu Flo also urged them to work on their minds, and change every negative mindset. The way they are thinking, that is how they are (Prov. 23:7). What they always think about is what they become, and what is not in their minds cannot be in their hands. If they do not change every negative mindset, their lives cannot change for the better. The journey to genuine wealth creation must begin with a change of mindset by the believer. Also, according to him, “You cannot be greater than what your mind dictates. Every great man on the earth is a product of his mind.” The Bishop also insisted that, “Your mentality will determine your behaviour.” He added that, “Your friends can give you a definition,” while admonishing believers not only to make friends with the poor, but also with the rich. The truth of the matter is that: while those poor people below them may need their help, they will equally need the help of those rich people above them.

6. Bishop Otutu Flo also warned believers not to take life for granted, but to deliberately build a prayer capacity that will carry them along the line, especially when the chips are down. They should also place high value on fasting.

7. To Bishop Otutu Flo, it is one thing for the believer to receive answers to prayers; it is another thing to live out the answered prayers. He noted that many believers have already received the answers to their prayers. However, they are still where they are, because they are not living out their answered prayers. He also pointed out that there are some good things they can enjoy in God only by having a change of mindset, and living out their answered prayers.
